Ancient Voices of Children

The BGSU New Music Ensemble will hold its spring concert at 8p in Bryan Hall this Thursday, 4/12. The program includes:

Liviu Marinescu - A-Gain
Mikel Kuehn - Flush
Christian Lauba - Adria
Charles Wuorinen - Big Spinoff
George Crumb - Ancient Voices of Children

I'll appear on the evening's final work, the Crumb - joined by some wonderful musicians, including my extremely talented brother John J. Pearse.  (The percussion setup for this piece is staggering - required instruments include a jingle-bell-sheet that I helped fabricate, chisels, screwdriver "mallets", river rocks, toy piano, and a set of chimes so tall one must stand on a chair to play them.)
